Southington-Cheshire Community YMCA is Hiring a Child Care Administrator Near Cheshire, CT

Requirements:

· Qualified Candidate must possess or be in pursuit of a four year degree from an accredited college

· Be at least 21 years old

· Have at least 3 years of experience in childcare and or administration

· Have knowledge of child growth and development

· Possess good computer, organization and communication skills

· Be able to organize and maintain accurate records

· Maintain confidentiality of information

· Be able to work evenings and weekends when necessary

· Schedule must be flexible to adjust hours worked during the entire operating day/year

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Branch Executive Director, the Child Care Administrator is responsible for the following:

· Follow-up with parents/guardians on all missing documentation prior to a child being admitted into a child care program

· Input data into system including information from current and future child care participants

· Assist child care department directors with the coordination of registration for all programs

· Support Accounting Department with the completion of monthly enrollment audit to ensure accurate childcare billing

· Use systems to monitor child records including, but not limited to: registration, health forms and ICP’s

· Correct childcare program database for each child when necessary to maintain accurate records

· Ensure all necessary paperwork is accurate and up-to-date in master files as well as at each Y off-site through periodic audits at each location

· Monitor tracking tools for coordination of child care registration

· Tour and review registration process with families. Register families as necessary

· Sales - Understand and be able to explain to parents the benefits of a YMCA membership

· Assist with department related marketing & promotion for all programs, as well as assist with special projects as assigned

· Answer phone calls, direct family participants as needed, and perform other duties acting as backup for the Early Childhood Director in their absence

· Meet with Child Care Directors and staff as needed

· Attend meetings and trainings as required

· Foster a positive team orientated environment

· Serve as an ‘ambassador’ of the YMCA in the Southington community

· Follow all YMCA Risk Management policies

· Maintain childcare staff files including updating ADP as necessary

· Review Camp Quinnipiac files for accuracy and follow up with parents/guardians on all missing documentation

· Act as a liaison to families applying for financial assistance. Collect all necessary paperwork and pass onto the accounting department for review. Communicate with families and accounting as needed throughout the process.

· Provide branch administrative support as needed including submitting bills and receipts to accounting, ordering of supplies as needed and petty cash

· Act as a substitute in childcare and at the front desk as needed

· Perform all other duties as assigned

Expectations:

This position carries major accountability of the Child Care program. The effectiveness of this person’s fulfillment of this position shall be measured by:

· Well organized registration process of Preschool and School Age programs

· Administrative paperwork for child care is produced in a timely, thorough, and accurate manner

· Excellent customer service received by all families

· Maintenance of accurate databases and records assuring proper compliance

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
